| I don't use special settings on my camera. I don't know how. I'm starting a photography class to help my mental-retardation when it comes to photography. I don't have a fancy, black, professional camera. I just have a plain, old, silver, non-expensive Canon. It's even got a dent in it from when I accidentally smashed it into the Balto statue when I was taking pictures in Central Park, NYC. There are scratches on the screen and lens. It's old and slow. It eats up batteries like nothing I've ever seen. But I love it. Even though it doesn't always return the favor. My paintings aren't amazing. I never tried t o make them that way. I never made them with that thought in mind. I do it because I like to get my hands dirty. I do it because I love the smell of paint on wet paper. I love finger paints, and water colors. I do it because I have paint and because I can. My sketches are not well thought out. Typically they are mindless cartoons that are birthed out of boredom. But they make me laugh. They make my techers laugh. They make my friends laugh. And I love them ---------------- Thus ---------------- My art is art by my standards. Not yours. Not your teachers. Mine. It's not art because textbooks and critics say it is. It's art because I made it. It's art because I expressed myself. It's art because it means something to me. If you miss that. Then I'm sorry for you. |
